If you think accidents can't happen look at this picture. They can and do. It is better to be careful and not tempt bad luck or risky actions. This girl looked a lot worse than this picture shows. When I hitchhiked down from Yellowstone Park and went directly to the hospital I did not recognize her.

Jami - this happened in 1946 when we lived in Salt Lake. We spent the summer working in Yellowstone- Helen went home to get the kids in school - Diane opened the right rear door but hung on to the handle and it pulled her out - she lit on a broken bottle - Helen rushed her to a hospital, called me I was in bed with tonsilitis but got up & hitchhiked to Salt Lake - did not recognize her at hospital - she looked worse then - Helen thought she was going about 35 mph. Car doors opened wrong way & wind caught the door suddenly.
